Scott Miller
I grew up in an unchurched (and loving) home environment and went on my own personal journey as a teenager to find life’s purpose. I am eternally grateful to friends and acquaintances who told their stories, showed the Difference, invited me to places where I could experience the Good News, and explained to me how I could become a follower of Jesus Christ. I made my commitment to follow Christ when I was almost 16 years old. I went to college, thinking that maybe I would go out in the business world and represent Christ. During my senior year, God invited me to serve in church ministry. After one summer youth pastor church experience, I told God: “I know one thing – I’ll never serve as a pastor in the church!!” Never say “Never” to God! I’ve been serving in the local church for 34 years now! My wife and partner in ministry, Chris, and I have been married for 32 years. She is the best! Chris is a school nurse at Picketts Mill Elementary School. We are empty-nesters. Our daughter Amelia is an account executive for an advertising agency in Baltimore, Maryland. She has our only “grand-dog,” an awesome golden retriever named Belle. Our son, Derek, and his wife, Kara, also live in Baltimore, where he serves as the pastor of Gallery Church in Patterson Park and where she is a speech therapist in the local school system. I love to teach God’s Word in its simplicity and power! I love to see people genuinely follow Christ! I love to see the forgotten, neglected, and unreached become involved in a family of faith! I love to see believers grow in Christ, discover their unique places of giftedness and service, and apply Christian principles in their friendships, marriages, homes, schools, vocations, and community! I love being personally involved and mobilizing others to invest in local and global missions, particularly where people haven’t heard the gospel truth. My world view has been deeply impacted by the 30+ international mission trips I have taken in the last 14 years. I love being a part of a multi-generational church on mission for Christ - sharing Christ as they go! I love to see the church do whatever it takes to bring the unchanging gospel of Jesus to a rapidly changing world! I dream of every person on the planet having the privilege of hearing a clear message of the saving gospel of Jesus at least once! If you’re not involved in a local faith family somewhere, please grow and serve with us!

Lee was baptized and brought up in the Catholic Church. He went to Church every Sunday where he learned about God. He always felt the desire to do the right thing, but it was not until he started attending Summit that he realized what it meant to have a relationship with the Father. Lee was baptized at Summit on January 27th, 2002. He believes that it was God working in him and in His time guided him from Maryland to Georgia to Summit to fully start serving Him.

As that relationship grew, Lee found himself serving in a number of different areas at Summit. He felt led to the youth where he has been a teacher for the past 8 years. Lee loves being able to share the Word of God with the youth. He believes it is so important for them to start that relationship with God as soon as possible. Lee does not want to see the kids wait as long as he did before realizing what God has done for them and what he is offering them.
