Hello Summit Family!
“Peace be the Journey”
Aren’t Grandkids great? A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit my grandson who lives in Illinois. When we first arrived, he was taking a nap. After his nap, his mom brought him out to the living room where we were waiting patiently to see him.
I will not lie, I had visions and dreams of him immediately running into my arms, hugging me, and shouting Paw Paw. Well that was not quite the way it happened. He cried first, then he got down from his mother’s arm, slowly walk over to me and climbed up into my lap. That was all it took to completely melt my heart.
As we prepared to leave a few days later, I thought about Luke as a teenage boy and what advice or wisdom would I leave with him one day. My thoughts traveled to the last 2 verses of chapter 12 of Ecclesiastes. I am sure you have those 2 verses memorized. In the book of Ecclesiastes, King Solomon shares his life story and his search for satisfaction in life.
Because of his poor choices, he made life very difficult for himself. We are like King Solomon. Most of us are looking for satisfaction in life and cannot find it. Our poor choices make finding satisfaction difficult and confusing. The journey becomes frustrating and discouraging.
I thought to myself, I do not want that to be my Grandson’s experience in life. I then decided that what I would share with him one day is the conclusion King Solomon came to as he struggled with finding satisfaction in his life.
Here are the 3 simple solutions to Life’s dilemma:
1. Fear God
2. Obey God
3. Prepare to meet God
Today meditate on these 3 simple actions and let them sink into your heart and change your journey.
Peace be the Journey.
